I have worked at Asan Medical Center (1990-1994) and Samsung Medical Center (1995-2017) as an infectious disease physician. During my work at Samsung Medical Center, Seoul, Korea for 23 years, I served as President & CEO of the hospital as well as the Dean of the School of Medicine, Sungkyunkwan University. From 2018 to 2019, I have worked at CHA Bio Group as Chairman & CEO, which is an international conglomerate of healthcare companies and hospitals. As an infectious disease physician and researcher, I have been leading international activities by organizing ANSORP (Asian Network for Surveillance of Resistant Pathogens) and APFID (Asia Pacific Foundation for Infectious Diseases) for more than 2 decades
Based on my personal experience of clinical activities, management, and international activities, I founded Mint Venture Partners which is a ‘company builder’ to commercialize innovative technologies and pipelines in biotechnology and healthcare space

Prior to joining Mint Venture Partners, I served as CFO of Daelim Industrial and DL E&C, and orchestrated various company-level initiatives including, but not limited to, financial structure, new business investments, corporate governance and shareholder value-oriented management. Previously, I served as President of EMEA regional headquarters and Head of Finance at Samsung C&T.

Working at the intersection of research and business has been exciting after switching careers from wanting to be a scientist to becoming an IP expert. Following that, I moved forward to working for a number of biotech companies, both public and startups, where I acquired knowledge and competence for the early-stage biotech industry. I’m hopeful that the knowledge and insights I’ve obtained from working in the biotech industry will aid in the development of the next wave of cutting-edge biotech companies.
One pillar of my experience and comprehension for the entire biotech ecosystem has been established through my involvement in the IP field, which ranges from involvement in patent applications, which are at the beginning of the technology life cycle, to patent litigations, which may be at the end of the technology life cycle. As a team member of MINT Venture Partners, I now intend to employ all of my prior knowledge and experience to create other cutting-edge biotech companies.
